I'm a 57 year old, married for 31 years and the father of four nearly grown children and I've had some success in business. 40 years ago I was road warrior, hitchhiking over 100,000 miles and the furthest thing from my mind was my future. My first novel has just been published title: Getting There. As you might expect, it has a hitchhiking theme. The chapter alternate from 1973 when a young, reckless man hitchhikes from Michigan to Florida on I-75 to 2003 when the same man drives his daughter to college on the same road.
To keep things interesting, I'm going back out on the road and hitchhiking the same road this August and see how the road has changed

I've hitchhiked all over the US and Canada a bit in Europe. I've picked up hitchhikers all over the world
